If you encounter problems when installing OS X Mavericks on your MacBook Pro where the installer claims that your harddrive is corrupted or damaged don’t panic…
The disk utility program is accessible from the installation screen menu.
Select your Mac’s harddrive and run a check. After running the check (where my MacBook’s harddrive showed some errors) select repair volume and wait until disk utility has finished the repairs.
Again from the installation screen menu select reboot and select your Mac’s harddrive as volume to boot from.
This worked out for me otherwise I would not have been able to write this post this fast
Now you can retry the installation of OS X Mavericks (after making a backup of your harddrive’s data I suggest).
